The drumming legend most famous for his time as a founder of Pantera, Damageplan, Rebel Meets Rebel, and Hellyeah was taken from us too young due to “dilated cardiomyopathy and coronary artery disease.” We have mourned his loss hard as Vinnie was a beloved as a figure in recent metal history for his outgoing personality, his giving spirit, and his incredible talent. Last year Hellyeah released their final album with Vinnie, Welcome Home, and completed a short tour, paying their respects nightly. HELLYEAH Taps Stone Sour Drummer Roy Mayorga for Upcoming Tour


HELLYEAH has announced that Stone Sour drummer Roy Mayorga will step behind the drum throne as a guest member, standing in for the late Vinnie Paul Abbott, who passed away last summer. Hellyeah Premieres New Song “333”, New Album Coming In June

Hellyeah is streaming their brand new song right now! Starting at 8 AM today, jam out to ‘333’ all day on SiriusXM Octane and SiriusXM Liquid Metal. Their new album releases on June 28th from Eleven Seven Music Group. This will be the final Hellyeah album with Vinnie Paul Abbott who passed away last summer. The band filmed the video for ‘333’ music video on March 1 at Duff’s Alcohol Abuse Center, the most famous metal bar in Brooklyn, New York a few weeks back. ‘333’ is a tribute to both Vinnie and his brother Dimebag Darrell, who played together in Pantera and Damageplan. Hellyeah will celebrate Vinnie Paul’s life with a special performance on May 11 at the House Of Blues in Las Vegas, Nevada.Continue reading


Pantera Teases Far Beyond Driven 25th Anniversary Vinyl


1990s Metal legends Pantera have released a teaser via their official Facebook page, promoting a vinyl reissue of their classic 1994 album Far Beyond Driven (East-West). The band is promoting an early sign-up mailing list link in their post, you can use below. The Twenty-Fifth anniversary of its release is coming up on March 22nd! Famously, Far Beyond Driven was the first ever Metal album to debut at #1 on the Billboard charts and Pantera’s only #1 album. It spawned four rock and metal charting hit singles in ‘I’m Broken’, Black Sabbath cover ‘Planet Caravan’, ‘5 Minutes Alone’ and ‘Becoming’. It is arguably their best album and the one that cemented their legacy forever. No word yet if the group is preparing any other surprise releases or content. Pantera members and brothers “Dimebag” Darrell Lance Abbott and Vinnie Paul Abbott have now both passed on, Dime in 2004 and Vinnie Paul last summer. Continue reading


Hellyeah To Release Final Album With Vinnie Paul In 2019


In a Thanksgiving message to fans, Hellyeah promised to release their new album in 2019. The band had completed the album last spring before the passing of drummer Vinnie Paul Abbott who passed away a short time after. The band then canceled their tour and festival schedule for the rest of the year. No word as yet by the band about finding a new drummer or touring plans. Continue reading

World famous metal drumming great Vinnie Paul Abbott of Pantera and Hellyeah, who died suddenly on June 22nd, has had his cause of death revealed by his family. In a statement, Vinnie’s family shared that he died from “natural causes”. The full statement can be read below.Continue reading


Watch Scour Cover Pantera In Tribute To Vinnie Paul


Death metal supergroup Scour played a rare show last night in Maryland at Baltimore Soundstage. Frontman Philip Anselmo dedicated a cover of the Pantera classic ‘Slaughtered’ to Vinnie Paul Abbott during the show. They previously covered ‘Strength Beyond Strength’ last fall.
