L7 Bassist Jennifer Finch Has Died

L7 have announced the passing of their beloved bandmate, friend, and fellow troublemaker, Jennifer Finch. She had been fighting an aggressive form of brain cancer with characteristic courage. The world of rock and roll is diminished today. We love you, Jennifer.

Co-Founding Morbid Angel Drummer Mike Browning (Nocturnus), Has Died

Sad news as legendary Metal drummer and vocalist Mike Browning passed away on July 13, 2026. He was 62. Decibel Magazine online broke the news, following a brief and kind social post from Morbid Angel’s official account on Instagram. Formed in 1983 by high school friends Browning and Trey Azgathoth, Morbid Angel became one of the original old-school, Floridian death metal bands. Browning left Morbid Angel in 1986 after appearing on several of the bands’ demos, but before they recorded their first studio LP. His music and drumming style would later feature on the band’s 1991 LP, Blessed Are The Sick. Following his departure from the band, Browning joined Incubus (the Death Metal band), before he formed Nocturnus. In addition to leaving and returing to the Nocturnus name (most recently as Nocturnus A.D., he also released an acclaimed solo album in 2023. Browning leaves behind his teenage daughter. RIP.

Bartholomäus “Barth” Resch, Former Bassist and Lyricist for Belphegor, Has Died

According to a story from Lambgoat.net, Blackened Death Metal legends Belphegor have shared that former bass player Bartholomäus “Barth” Resch died last month as a result of an automobile accident. Resch was 49. Resch was a member of Belphegor from 2002 until 2006 and performed on the band’s classic albums Lucifer Incestus (2003), Goatreich – Fleshcult (2005), and Pestapokalypse VI (2006) albums. After his departure from the band, his lyrics appeared on Bondage Goat Zombie (2008) and Walpurgis Rites – Hexenwahn (2009). Belphegor co-founder and guitarist Helmuth had the following to say:
