Much loved New York City modern metal band IKILLYA had a spotlight shown on them last week when one of their tracks, ‘Bombs Away’ aired during episode four of the current season of The CW’s Legends of Tomorrow program, set in the DC Comics “Arrowverse”. “Bombs Away’ comes off of IKILLYA’s 2011 album Recon. The band disbanded in 2017 after the release of their excellent War For An Idea album, released via Urban Yeti Records. Nice to see some love for a cool band more people need to hear! Rising Pulse Records, the label owned by John LaMacchia of Candiria, is hosting a 10-year anniversary party this week at Brooklyn Bazaar in Brooklyn. The show will be headlined by Candiria, along with Recon, Netherlands, NYHC veterans Locked In A Vacancy, and SevenSuns. Rising Pulse has been a foil for John to release incredible, challenging music from his own Spylacopa, and also Julie Christmas, Meek Is Murder, Kevin Hufnagel, A Family Plot, Morn and more. In addition to great music from bands, the label creates amazing custom products such as limited edition vinyl, cassettes, and other merch.
