Ghost Introduces Papa Emeritus IV at Their Final Concert of the “Prequelle” Tour Cycle


As long predicted by Ghost Cult, Ghost introduced Papa Emeritus IV at the final date on the Prequelle World Tour in Mexico City. The new character who will front the band during its next album cycle. No word yet if we have seen the end of Cardinal Copia as he was, but it seems he was promoted to Papa IV. Papa Nihil, Saxophone player live and character in all of Ghost’s recent videos has apparently died or been killed off. Tobias Forge performed as a “new” Papa Emeritus on each of the band’s first three LPs, with each version of Papa replacing the one that came before it. Papa Emeritus III was retired in favor of Cardinal Copia before the release of 2018’s “Prequelle” album. Video footage and photos of the big reveal can be seen below. Ghost to Release Deluxe Collector’s Edition of “Prequelle”


Ghost just wrapped their summer tour of Europe opening for Metallica and now gets ready for their first-ever headline arena tour of North America, “The Ultimate Tour Named Death”. Now the band is set to release the Prequelle Exalted Limited Deluxe Collector’s Edition package to including rare Ghost merch and limited to only 5000. Ghost To Release Exclusive Papa Emeritus II Funko Pop Vinyl’s at Hot Topic


In a leak reported by trade publication Pop Vinyl World, Ghost and Hot Topic have partnered to release an exclusive Funko Pop Vinyl of Papa Emeritus II pop. This news is amazing as Ghost pops have been long rumored to be in the works, with fans making their own incredible tribute pops, and the band has already delved into busts figurines and plush doll of Cardinal Copia. Die-hard fans are already going apeshit over this. Funko is one of the biggest collectible toy companies in the world, having held its IPO last year and becoming a major player in the business. Ghost, on the strength of 2018’s Prequlle album, is finishing their tour with Metallica this summer before their first headline arena tour of the USA this fall.

Ghost Shares New Lyric Video for “Faith”, European Tour Dates with Metallica Continue


Ghost has seen its third single from 2018’s Album of the Year Prequelle hit the charts. ‘Faith’ now has an inventive lyric video to support the track. Easily one of the heaviest tracks on the album, the clip pulls no punches expressing the anti-religious themes of the song. Watch A Children’s Choir Cover Ghost’s “Life Eternal”


As reported by PiercingMetal,  The Wallenpaupack Area HS Chamber Choir has performed a cover of Grammy-winning band Ghost’s ‘Life Eternal’! The track comes from their 2018 global hit album Prequelle (Loma Vista). According to the post, the performance was taken from the June 4th WWAHS Chorus concert and arranged and conducted by a student named Samantha. It’s a pretty amazing performance made up by a small band and choir made up of teens! Ghost has been on tour all summer in Europe opening for Metallica, before embarking on a headline arena tour of the USA. Ghost Shares a New Trailer, US Arena Tour Dates Incoming


Chart-topping Occult Rock band Ghost has shared a new trailer in their ongoing series of teasers promoting Prequelle (Loma Vista Recordings). The clip stars Cardinal Copia, Sister Imperator, and Papa Nihil, and also has a very Kubrick-ian feel, with nods to classic Stephen King book and film The Shining. These clips continue to hint at a return of Papa Emeritus character at some point in the future. Ghost Will Release Their Next Album in 2020


In a new interview with Billboard, Tobias Forge confirmed that he has begun writing the next Ghost full-length original album, and it will be released in 2020. Backing up a previous interview where he intimated the band have already recorded one of their infamous covers Eps for later in 2019, Forge claims he has been working on new material “working on for months now,” with plans to be in the studio again by the beginning of 2020 with a release later that year. The band is about to embark on a full tour of Europe supporting Metallica, followed by festivals and more headline shows worldwide. The band is on tour supporting their global smash album Prequelle (Loma Vista Recordings), Ghost Cult’s Album of the Year for 2018,  and is nominated for the Grammy awards this weekend. UPDATED: Ghost Shares Tour Video Recap, New Album in 2020


Ghost just concluded their biggest year ever with the final show of their tour at Brooklyn NY’s Barclays Center. The band also performed at The Los Angeles Forum and all over the country during the “A Pale Tour Named Death”. They toured all over the world supporting their critical and commercial hit album Prequelle (Loma Vista Recordings), which was also The Ghost Cult Album of the Year in our writers poll. The band will start next year with more headline tours, opening for Metallica’s arena tour and music festivals. Ghost: A Pale Tour Named Death – Live At Barclays Center


We have spent a fair amount of time discussing the meteoric rise of Ghost the last few years, culminating in a banner year in 2018. In addition to As part of their huge A Pale Tour Named Death Tour’s final leg the band would perform shows at both The Forum in Los Angeles and Barclays Center in Brooklyn, the band has definitely signaled that they have their eyes on bigger things in the future. It’s hard to believe a band I saw in the in a little club in Boston seven years ago would be headlining arena shows. By all indications tonight, this is only the beginning. Continue reading
