The history of thrash metal got another ring on the world-tree in 1984 with the release of Ride the Lightning (Megaforce/Elektra Records), the second album by Metallica. With better songwriting, tight production, and more originality than their debut Kill Em All (Megaforce), Ride moved the needle forward for the entire genre and cemented Metallica as the premiere band in the genre. Anthrax Performs “Now It’s Dark” for the First Time in 27 Years
Anthrax is currently on tour in Europe, performing at festivals and headline dates, still supporting their 2016 album For All Kings (Megaforce/Nuclear Blast Records). The band has started to change up their setlist finally on this tour after a lot of repeated songs on opening slots on tours. The band performed the song ‘Now It’s Dark’ for the first time in more than twenty-seven years on June 8 at Batschkapp in Frankfurt, Germany. The band played it again the following night at the Rock Hard Festival in Gelsenkirchen. The track comes from their 1988 album State of Euphoria (Island Records), which saw a thirty-year anniversary edition release last year. Continue reading
