Jason Newsted Opens Up About Life After Metallica on The Metallica Podcast



Former Metallica bassist Jason Newsted joined the latest episode of The Metallica Podcast
for a wide-ranging interview with co-host Steffan Chirazi (So What Magazine). For episode 24, Jason discussed his career path to metal, not going to a local college in Michigan – instead moving to Arizona to join Flotsam and Jetsam, how he misses performing live, how he lives in the moment today, usually creating music or a painting start to finish often in the same day he feels inspired and much more! He also stated he is frequently offered art and music collaborations all over the world, but feels he needs to be selective of such choices. Jason played a one-off metal show last spring in Florida, commemorating ten years of his solo metal project. He has two other bands with finished music, but so far no official release dates. Metallica has shared a new video of former bassist Jason Newstead, previously a member of the band from 1986 -2001, unboxing the deluxe version of The Black Album Remastered. Due out September 10th from Blackened Recordings. To celebrate thirty years of the biggest-selling album in rock or metal history, the band has long teased a celebration for their commercial blockbuster Metallica aka “The Black Album”  all year.
