The most creative force of genius in music today is writing a new album right now! Devin Townsend who has been keeping incredibly busy during the pandemic-enforced quarantine that interrupted his world tour supporting his 2019 album Empath (InsideOut Music). In the meantime, he has launched a crowdfunding campaign, started a  podcast series reflecting on his entire career, and held three livestreamed concerts for charity raising thousands of dollars for frontline healthcare workers. Devin Townsend to Release “Empath The Ultimate Edition” in June

Devin Townsend has announced he will release Empath The Ultimate Edition announced for release on June 5th 2020, via InsideOut Music. This comprehensive version of 2019’s acclaimed album contains the original record and bonus discs across 2 CDs, plus 2 Blu-Ray discs. The first blu-ray contains the 5.1 Surround Sound mix by Devin, with visuals for the full record, plus a stereo visualiser. The second blu-ray contains a raft of bonus material, including ‘Acoustically Inclined – Live in Leeds’, a recording from his April 2019 acoustic tour where he performed tracks including ‘Love?’, ‘Deadhead’, ‘Thing Beyond Things’ & more. It also features the full Empath Documentary, a ‘Genesis 5.1 Mixing Lesson’, a full album commentary & more. The four discs sit inside a beautiful art-book that contains new liner notes and images from the making of the album.

Devin Townsend Forced to Postpone Remaining “Empath” Tour Dates Over Coronavirus

Devin Townsend has announced via a post to social media that the remaining dates of the Empath (InsideOut Music) Tour are postponed due to fears from the Coronavirus. Citing a variety of factors, including show cancellations, and the fact that more than half of his crew is European or from the UK, continuing was out of the question. Devy hopes to make up the dates at some point and went on to say that the tour had been the best yet in the USA for him and that is possible, fans can purchase leftover tour merch via Devin’s official webstore (www.omerch.com). Dream Theater Will Sell Their New Beer on Tour

Dream Theater, who previously sold out of all of their Bar Stool Warrior beer at their events surrounding the release of their Distance Over Time (InsideOut Music), their beer will again be available at select venues on their upcoming tour! Created in a partnership with Barrier Brewing Company, the beer will be available at select venues on the upcoming leg of their US tour. The pilsner, Barstool Warrior, has been sold-out since it was first introduced this past summer. Recently, another 300 cases have been brewed and will be available in New York and New Jersey stores in the near future. Attendees of the concert in Albany at the Palace Theater on October 12th will be able to buy Barstool Warrior at the concert, another career first for the band. Dream Theater Announces an Early 2020 Tour of Europe

Dream Theater, riding high on their 2019 release of Distance Over Time (InsideOut Music) and their 20th anniversary live tours supporting Metropolis Part 2: Scenes From A Memory, the band has announced new tour dates of Europe for early 2020. The band will perform again in the “Evening with…” format. The 28-date leg will see the band traverse 16 countries, including the UK, Germany, France, Netherlands, and many more.
