According to a published report from Rolling Stone, a new Federal Trade Commission (FTC) complaint claims that Live Nation and Ticketmaster have been accused of allowing scalpers to suck up millions of tickets so they can be resold on Ticketmaster’s own resale platforms, at an enormous inflated cost to customers. The claim alleges that the company lets brokers buy more tickets than they’re allowed so they can be resold on Ticketmaster’s own platform at steep markups.
