Mastodon Release ‘Toe to Toes’ Single From “Cold Dark Place” EP

Earlier this week we learned that Mastodon will be releasing their Cold Dark Place EP on September 22nd via Reprise Records. Brent Hinds said this on the new material, “One is an album I wrote myself, and recorded with Brann and Troy during the ‘Once More ‘Round The Sun‘ sessions. My part is called ‘Cold Dark Place‘, and it has to do with a nasty breakup that I went through. I wrote some pretty dark, beautiful, spooky, funky, ethereal, melancholy music, which also sounds like the Bee Gees a little bit.”

Mastodon To Release A New Album In September

Back in June of 2016, Mastodon‘s Brent Hinds told Guitar World about a “pretty dark, beautiful, spooky, funky, and ethereal” solo record entitled Cold Dark Place. The record was originally supposed to be combined with what became their latest release, but as we all know by now, Emperor Of Sand came out by itself back in March. Continue reading →
