Adam Jones of Tool has shared a “guitar tutorial” video for the song ‘Pneuma’, a deep cut from their globally acclaimed album Fear Inoculum (Tool Dissectional Records). The guitarist uploaded the video to his Instagram account and he included the following message: “A little tutorial share. Dressing room guitar lesson of the last verse in ‘Pneuma’ made for my guitar friend and supporter Axe Of Creation while we were on tour (hmm… I can’t remember where we were…). 440 D dropped on the Nomad. Justin [Chancellor, bass] stays on the original riff so there are some nice little conflicting moments between the two parts. Not difficult to play but it’s very satisfying.” Tool was set to embark on an extensive spring tour in support of “Fear Inoculum”, but has postponed the entire outing due to the coronavirus pandemic. Drummer Danny Carey revealed that he hopes to get together soon with Jones and Chancellor to begin working on music for a new EP.Continue reading

Morrissey Features In Ant-Man And The Wasp Movie
Marvel Studios just released their new film in The Marvel Cinematic Universe, Ant-Man and The Wasp. Spoiler alert: it rules! The film has many musical nods including several appearances of Morrisey songs like ‘Everyday is Like Sunday’ (lead character Scott Lang’s ringtone) and a flashback story that Luis tells that involves a jukebox that only plays Morrissey songs in a Spanish restaurant. ‘The First of the Gang to Die’ is also heard in the movie. The Cure’s ‘Disintegration’ was heard in the first Ant-Man flick and Adam And The Ants factored in an early trailer as well, expanding on similar artists of that era. Continue reading

The song comes from the iconic post-punk/new wave 1980 album Kings Of The Wild Frontier (CBS/Epic). You can hear the song and watch the trailer below. Continue reading
Adam Ant – The Glam Skanks At Revolution Hall
The Glam Skanks are by far one of my favorite openers I have seen in some time. The way the music and attitude infected everyone right off the bat was something you would usually expect from the headliner. I honestly have not seen a band believe in what they are doing more than them in recent memory. The subject matter is fun, racy and rebellious while maintaining a very strong sense of confidence and awesome female empowerment. Like an all-girl gang that will take your pinball money at the roller rink, but wink at you as they walk away.Continue reading
