Snayx Drop Single and Video for “Sink or Swim” from Upcoming EP

As they gear up for their next release, Brighton based Snayx have shared a new single, “Sink or Swim.” Taken from the forthcoming EP, Better Days, the track is “a piss and vinegar-tinged anthem,” accompanied by its own music video. The EP is due out February 09th, but you can check out “Sink or Swim” and find out more in the article below.

We’re poked and prodded into conventional shapes and forced to fit.” says enigmatic frontman Charlie Herridge. ““Sink or Swim” is about rejecting social pressures and finding comfort in being different. Embracing your true identity and being able to block out the maelstrom of voices and opinions writing you off and holding you back. In a time where it feels like ‘nothing ever changes’, it’s important to reflect inwards and find comfort in your uniqueness and the simple happiness in being ‘awake and alive’.

“Sink or Swim” comes hot on the heels of an exciting 2023 for Snayx. The South-East-based trio (rounded out with bassist Ollie Horner and drummer Lainey Loops) released their highly charged, eclectic ep, Weaponized Youth: Part 1, to huge critical acclaim. The EP showcased the Medusa-like musical repertoire of this incredibly exciting band. From the hard-hitting socio-political stomp of “Work” to the wild headiness of “Buck”, Weaponized Youth: Part 1 was the perfect introduction.

In 2023, Snayx graced the stages of some of the most prestigious festivals in the UK and Europe, leaving audiences awe-inspired by their energy and musical prowess. These experiences have further solidified Snayx’s reputation as one of the UK’s most electrifying new live bands. Their headline tour in the UK in October saw the band pack out venues up and down the country, giving avid fans a taste of what this formidable trio is capable of.

More from Snayx:
Combining explosive riffs and confrontational vocals with splashes of playful punk, SNAYX are breaking through at a time when socially conscious, aggressive guitar music is making waves across the UK and beyond. The likes of Nova Twins and Kid Kapichi (both bands Snayx have supported) show what DIY bands can achieve.

There’s a real scene that’s coming through at the minute and it just feels so exciting. We want to be a part of that,” the band explained. “It’s different to the old-school punk scene but it’s got the same energy and intensity behind it. It’s liberating.

With numerous tours and festival appearances, Snayx have covered an awful lot of ground in a short space of time, and their music is just as ambitious. “If you limit yourself creatively, you put yourself in a box. We’ve never wanted to do that,” they say. “We want to work outside of boxes, to make something we truly love.

Snayx have already developed a fearsome reputation and a loyal fanbase. They literally couldn’t fit another person inside Brighton’s Green Door Store for their debut headline show and a summer of festivals has only seen their legend grow. “I’m soaring with confidence,” Ollie says. “You could ask us to play Wembley tomorrow and we’d be ready to go.

We really weren’t expecting this reaction but it does feel like people really care about what we do,” he continues. They believe their music is connecting because “people are feeling a lot of angst after years of living under Tory control. For young people, there’s so little for them. Everything feels bleak. Music is such a release though. There’s no violence, no malice at our shows. There’s just joy.
