Written and recorded during the COVID-19 pandemic, Bridge To Resolution is a deeply personal record shaped by a period of forced stillness and upheaval. With touring halted, Embury turned inward, drawing on the psychological concept of shadow integration, the idea that self-discovery comes from confronting the darker parts of one’s personality. The album documents a journey from despair toward Resolution.
The eight tracks reveal a side of Embury largely absent from his decades of extreme metal work. The record draws on his long-standing love of atmospheric goth and post-punk, with Cocteau Twins, Killing Joke, and The Mission as clear touchstones. Embury performs all guitar and bass parts himself, building the music around synthesizers, layered vocals, and a contemplative, expansive atmosphere. Carl Stokes of ex-Cancer, Groundhogs, and Current 93 handles drums, while production comes from Simon Efemey, known for his work with Paradise Lost, Crowbar, and Amorphis.
Bridge To Resolution arrives June 5th via Dissonance Productions.
