Sacred Bones Records Announce John Carpenter Compilation Album

Sacred Bones Records have shared news that they will be releasing a new compilation of music from acclaimed movie director and film score composer, John Carpenter. Anthology II (Movie Themes 1976-1988) is out October 06th in various formats. Keep reading below for more about this release.

By now everyone should know, John Carpenter is not only a celebrated filmmaker but also a musical maestro whose soundtracks have become synonymous with the genres of horror, suspense, and science fiction. Anthology II (Movie Themes 1976-1988) continues the celebration of his compositional genius via an excellently sequenced collection of some of his most iconic pieces of music from his extensive filmography, all newly recorded with his musical collaborators Daniel Davies and Cody Carpenter. 

 

Formats include the Sacred Bones mail-order exclusive “They Live” blue and white splatter vinyl.

 

Be sure to check out the incredible Adam Fuchs visualizer for the first single from the album, stand-out track “Chariots of Pumpkins” from the cult classic film Halloween III. This song appears first on the album because as John Carpenter himself said it “felt like a good way to open the compilation with a bang.”

 

In celebration of the release of John Carpenter’s Anthology II, Sacred Bones Records have announced a very limited, mail order only box set edition of both Anthology I & II! The box sets come with a bonus 7”, and an exclusive poster, and we also have a deluxe bundle option that comes with both Anthology themed slip mats. There are also special limited edition cassette box sets while stocks last.
