Rob Zombie Shares New Album Update

Rob Zombie is never one given to flights of fancy, except in his movies and lyrics. He claims in a new interview at Loudwire that the new album from his band is the “best they’ve ever made”. Their new record is due early next year from Rob’s longtime label Universal Music. Read an excerpt of his interview below. Chris “Zeuss” Harris once again produced and mixed the album. Zombie is on the “Twins Of Evil” co-headlining summer tour with Marilyn Manson.

The record’s done. It’ll get out next year, early next year. I think this and so do the guys in the band — I think it’s the best record we’ve made. Parts of it are the heaviest, parts are the weirdest, it’s the most complex record we’ve ever made, but at the same time it’s always very catchy and listenable, but it’s the most intricately structured record.

I know everybody says, ‘Oh, our new record’s the best record. Blah, blah, blah.’ No one gives a shit. I never want to look at things like, ‘Oh, you know, the best shit we did was long ago.’ A lot of bands these days have given up on making records it seems. I don’t understand that.”

There are those songs that go in a direction we’ve never even gone near before. Personally, I like records that are very varied in sound. Not just like, ‘Oh, here’s 12 super heavy tracks,’ and they’re all the same tempo. I like records that are all over the place. That’s why I think my favorite Beatles record was always ‘The White Album‘, because it was all over the place.”
