Rex Brown has been teasing his upcoming solo album for many months now, and he’s just signed a worldwide deal with Entertainment One (eOne) to release that debut LP later this year. In case you forgot, this will not be a metal record. As Rex has previously said, “It’s a rock and roll record. It’s not your standard fare or typical metal thing. I was always a big Zeppelin fan and even though it has its little fringes of it… It’s a new journey that sounds like anywhere from Foghat to old Tom Waits. I’m a child of the 70s and I love those kind of songs. There are other things in life that I want to do, and this is one of them. It’s not just a fluke – we already have enough material for the next two, possibly three, records. I’m doing a solo record, I’m fucking singing on it and you’re gonna dig it!”
Thanks to the good people at Entertainment One (eOne), this record will finally hit stores later this year. Here’s what eOne‘s Scott Givens had to say on the deal: “I am thrilled to have such an influential artist like Rex join the growing Entertainment One rock family. He’s influenced not just our other artists, but myself as well. It’s an honor for all of us to work with him.”
Stay tuned for more details on his solo record coming VERY SOON!
