On October 11, fans of the surreal, the weird, the multi-layered nonsensical, and of course, Poppy, are in for a treat as the brand new video series Improbably Poppy drops on streaming platform, Veeps. Envisioned, produced and performed by the sometimes flagrant, often peculiar Poppy, and adorned with a rotating door of unsuspecting “expert” guests, the show catapults itself onto screens with six punchy episodes. Improbably Poppy is a complex knot of comedy, subversive commentary, and music, unabashedly introduced by Poppy as “a show where we’ll learn, listen, live, laugh, love and probably, a few of us will die.” It promises to bend your mind in ways that only Poppy can, exploring subjects like Free Will, Hygiene and Taking Risks through comedic segments, musical performances, guest interviews that border on brutal, and sass-filled commentary by a cast of puppets. An air of transcendence only further stirs the swirl of ambiguity — is Poppy real? Is she a NPC? Do the puppets really die? Those that tune in will be the first to know. Or will they?
Improbably Poppy is the latest offering from a deep repertoire of performance art dating back to Poppy’s early days as a YouTube video artist. Once again Poppy channels the essence of a shapeshifter, envisioning and then embodying the most striking visual forms alongside her trademark cryptic narrative and humor. Improbably Poppy will feel like quintessential Poppy to her long standing followers, but in strange and peculiar ways they could never have anticipated. Each Improbably Poppy episode will feature Poppy performing an original song tied to the episode’s theme; fans can tune in to see each one for the first time.

2024 has been a peak aura year for Poppy. In January, she kicked things off by joining Bad Omens on the Concrete Forever Tour across Europe, followed by her headlining her own Zig Tour throughout the region. She played support shows for the likes of Avenged Sevenfold and Thirty Seconds To Mars. On November 15th, 2024, she will release her forthcoming album, Negative Spaces, which is already being heralded as one of the most anticipated records of the fall.
Poppy wrote, directed and starred in Improbably Poppy, with Garrett Nicholson as co-director. Executive Producers included Poppy, Benji Madden, and Joel Madden.
