Formed in 2003, Necroccultus built their reputation through a series of underground releases, including the debut full-length Encircling the Mysterious Necrorevelation (2005) on Sempiternal Productions, a 7″ EP on Blood Harvest Records, a three-way split with Sanctifier and Throneum on Warfuck Records, and a split LP with Shub-Niggurath on Iron Bonehead Productions. Decades of underground militancy and unwavering dedication to the death metal cause have shaped everything that follows.
The Afterdeath Blackness is the product of that accumulated experience, featuring eight tracks of massive riffs, carefully crafted songwriting, and a dense, ritualistic atmosphere that feels both timeless and fiercely alive. The compositions are elaborate without becoming self-indulgent, balancing complexity with raw impact and a constant sense of menace, while a subtle veil of epic grandeur elevates the material beyond mere brutality. Rather than chasing trends, Necroccultus embraces the spirit of classic death metal and filters it through decades of artistic growth, speaking directly to devoted followers of the old ways while reaffirming their place among today’s torchbearers of authentic death metal.
