Antichrist Superstar returns fully remastered in deluxe gatefold packaging. It includes a twenty-four-page bonus book packed with previously unreleased photography, handwritten lyrics, and sketches from the album’s era. Waxwork handles the vinyl and cassette release, and its 2xLP pressing comes in midnight blue with an iridescent gold-and-green haze. Revolver offers an alternate crystal-clear black smoke pressing, bundled with a limited vintage shirt recreation.
Looking back on the record, Manson says it “carved open the American dream,” adding that for “true believers that scar never healed.”
Nothing Records and Interscope first released Antichrist Superstar in October 1996. Trent Reznor co-produced it, and it turned “The Beautiful People,” “Tourniquet,” and “Man That You Fear” into Nineties staples.
The thirtieth anniversary tour kicked off October 14 with two nights at The Fillmore in New Orleans. Next, two-night stands in San Antonio and Austin precede Halloween weekend at The Wiltern in Los Angeles. In LA, the band stages “An Evening with Marilyn Manson,” a two-act show that revisits the album alongside songs from across Manson’s career. As Manson puts it, “I’m celebrating 30 years of Antichrist Superstar with a set that dives deep into this defining record and spans the milestones that followed. It’s a tribute to where I began, and everything I have become.” Ghost Cult first reported the LA shows here.
