Rome’s Klimt 1918 have unveiled “Dream Core,” the first single and music video from their forthcoming fifth album Àmor, due June 12, 2026, through Prophecy Productions.
The sun-drenched video arrives as the band’s first new material in nearly a decade, following the 2016 double album Sentimentale Jugend. The wait has clearly been time well spent. Àmor was born out of silence and solitude, yet built as a deliberate counterpoint to those conditions — every song revolves around carnality, physical contact, ardour, and the urgent feelings that keep people awake at night. It is a record about bodies and desire forged in isolation, and that tension runs through every second of it.

The album marks another step in the steady evolution of the Romans’ sound. The avant-garde metal influences that coloured their earlier work have given way almost entirely to darkwave, alternative rock, and post-rock, but Klimt 1918 refuse to gaze at their shoes. They dream with open eyes, looking up into the sky. Àmor was mixed by Tony Doogan at Castle of Doom Recording Studios in Glasgow and mastered by Frank Arkwright at Abbey Road Studios in London, by engineers whose combined credits span Mogwai, Snow Patrol, Joy Division, Coldplay, and Oasis. The pedigree behind the boards matches the ambition of the music itself.
Formed in Rome in 1999 by brothers Marco and Paolo Soellner from the ashes of a metal band, Klimt 1918 have built a devoted following across Europe over five albums and two decades of emotionally charged, dynamically rich music.
