Old school death metal legends, Jungle Rot, have just unleashed their latest single, “Maniacal,” with an official video. It comes from their 12th album, Cruel Face Of War, arriving via Unique Leader Records, on May 15th. Watch it below and read more.

Dave Matrise (vocals, guitars) comments: ““Maniacal” is one of those songs that just hits you in the face over and over when you’re listening to it. It is full of nonstop groove and violence just the way we like it… I’ve always been a fan of music with more of a groovier side to it. “Maniacal” is the perfect blend of old school groove to make it a fan favorite. When writing “Maniacal” I wanted it to be a more of a in-the-pocket kinda song. With a drum beat that gets your head banging without even trying.”

Kenosha, Wisconsin’s Jungle Rot deliver a punitive blend of old-school thrash metal, death metal, crossover, crusty punk and are known to integrate slow stomp melodies into their style. With their upcoming album Cruel Face Of War, the quartet continues that tradition, delivering 12 tracks in their signature OSDM style — produced once again by Chris Djuricic at Bell City Sound Company, plus mixed and mastered by Dan Swano at Unisound Studio.

After Cruel Face Of War‘s release, Jungle Rot will appear across Europe this summer, headlining the Back to the Old School Tour with KHNVM and Rats Of Gomorrah as support, in addition to performing at some of the biggest festivals on the continent.
