My Favorite Concert Memory: Tyler Myklebust Of Famous Last Words

Tyler Myklebust the band’s guitarist, wrote about his favorite concert memory below for Ghost Cult.

The year was 2007, Epitaph Records announced the lineup for The Epitaph Tour. The lineup featured Escape The Fate, I Am Ghost, The Matches, and The Higher. The only band I knew of on the bill was Escape The Fate. But that was reason enough for me to want to go as I was a huuuuge ETF fan. So not knowing any of the other bands I decided to check them out. I listened to all the bands online and at the time I could only get into I Am Ghost. So the day of the show came and my friend and I made or way to El Corazon in Seattle for the show. Once the show started, seeing The Matches and The Higher live made me a fan. I Am Ghost took the stage next and killed it. I started off not knowing those three bands and every once in a while I still listen to their music. It was a diverse package and I ended up enjoying the other bands. Then Escape The Fate came on stage and absolutely brought the house down. I listened to their album constantly and I remember thinking all day “GOD I HOPE THEY DON’T SUCK” they definitely didn’t disappoint. They put on such an amazing and energetic show it really blew me away. Ronnie kept hanging from some pipes above the stage and standing on the crowd it was super entertaining to watch. I always remember this show going back to the venue on tour because very shortly after the concert the venue had to put up chicken wire over the pipes to prevent vocalist from hanging on the pipes anymore. The concert made a huge impact on me and made me want to be a touring musician even more.
