Finnish melodic death metallers, Horizon Ignited, have unveiled their latest single, “Ashes,” featuring a guest appearance by Jaakko Mäntymaa (Marianas Rest). Accompanied by a music video, the song explores themes of destruction and renewal. It is the fourth preview from their upcoming album, Tides, due out on February 21, 2025. ““Ashes” is the final single before the release of our upcoming album Tides and it is definitely the doomiest song that we’ve done so far, which is fitting considering the fact that we have Jaakko Mäntymaa from Marianas Rest doing guest vocals on this track. Speaking of which, this is the first Horizon Ignited song ever to feature guest vocals! The song takes you down deep into a dark abyss void of all hope. Humanity is doomed and all light is gone as the judgement of a mad god falls over the world. It’s super heavy and has a slower tempo, painting a depressing and gloomy picture of an end without hope. “None shall be forgiven, no sin will be forgotten. Descend into damnation, eternal suffocation.” One of our personal favourites from the album! The music video was made by our very own Johannes Mäkinen who made his music video directorial debut with “Welcome To This House Of Hate”. This video is much more serious and cinematic, fitting the song perfectly. Two days of hard work in the cold forests of Finland paid off and were worth all the effort!”

Tides is a profound exploration of the human condition, weaving themes of fragility, resilience, and transformation into an electrifying sonic journey. Recorded with Juho Räihä (Swallow The Sun) at Inka Studio and mixed/mastered by Chris Clancy (Machine Head, Kataklysm), the album is set to redefine the melodic death metal landscape.
