(HED) P.E. Shares a Classic Horror Film Inspired Music Video for “Death Trip”

“G-Punk” pioneers (HED) P.E. continue to tour across the United States in support of their recently released Sandmine EP, out now via Suburban Noize Records! The band teamed up with director and VFX artist Joshua Petrino to film a music video for the track “Death Trip’ which they just dropped. The video is a parody love letter to classic horror movies such as Friday The 13th and Sleepaway Camp, where a masked maniac is loose inside of a campground during movie night.

“We met Josh on tour as a fan of the band, and he showed us some of his incredible work as a director. When he offered to direct a video for ‘Death Trip’ with us in New Jersey it was no brainer,” commented frontman Jared Gomes. “Josh and his team perfectly captured the look and feel of a classic slasher movie and I think it turned out amazing. This is definitely a fun video to create and turned out to be one of the best looking music videos (Hed) P.E has ever done as well.”

Check out our recent interview with Jared:

Sandmine was recorded by (HED) P.E. frontman Jared Gomes with producer/songwriter Remy Dovianus. Dovianus has been a lifelong (HED) P.E. fan and recorded the guitar and bass in The Netherlands with a goal of harnessing the signature sound of the band’s biggest albums. Drummer Jeremiah “Trauma” Stratton laid down his drums with an emphasis, complimenting the deep metallic grooves created by Dovianus. Gomes is ever defiant and at the top of his game on “Sandmine”. The entire project draws inspiration from the raw aggression of Suicidal Tendencies and Rage Against The Machine, and mixes it with the unfiltered hardcore tones of Hatebreed. “Sandmine” encapsulates the old thrashiness and ferocity of early (Hed) P.E albums,  weaving together a complex mixture of poignant punk-rock, brutal riffs, and bludgeoning drums that pack a walloping punch.

(HED) P.E. are the pioneers of the G-Punk sound, which fuses together punk-rock, metal, hip-hop and reggae. The band has toured the world for 20 years sharing the stage with the likes of Suicidal Tendencies, System of a Down, KORN, Tech N9ne, Tool as well as the original Black Sabbath on the iconic Ozzfest tour. (HED) P.E. experienced a creative resurgence after signing with Suburban Noize Records in the early 2000s and was instrumental in developing the booming underground scene.

(HED) P.E. are set to release a new compilation album “Califas Worldwide” on February 4th, 2022 via Suburban Noize Records. The album’s cover art was drawn by Jim “TAZ” Evans, and the record is set to feature guest appearances by Johnny Richter from The King Klick, John E. Necro from OPM, Shifty from Crazytown, Angelo Moore of Fishbone, HR of Bad Brains, Norwood Fisher of Fishbone, Peter Distefano of Porno for Pyros, and more.

(Hed) P.E will join Drowning Pool, Ill Nino, and Evolution Empire on the Brothers in Arms Tour kicking off in March of 2022.
