David Smith, the founding cornerstone of the band, reflects on the band’s journey and says “A 50th anniversary for Gypsy’s Kiss – who would have thought that in 1974, that a raw 19-year-old long haired ‘would be’ musician from east London would still be playing and writing and releasing music after 50 years with top notch musicians and to large and enthusiastic audiences in the UK and Europe? Not me! I couldn’t be more surprised, thrilled and delighted. Long may it continue!

The debut single, “We’ve Come To Play,” marks a poignant return for the legacy band. Reflecting on their journey, the song narrates their resurgence after a hiatus following their initial run. However, this return isn’t about vanity, ego, or financial gain; it’s a heartfelt resurgence driven by a profound love for music, the exhilaration of performing live, and the sheer joy of entertaining audiences. Smith describes the single as “semi-autobiographical.

The forthcoming album promises to be a testament to the band’s enduring legacy and their unwavering commitment to their craft. While deeply rooted in their Maiden lineage, Gypsy’s Kiss remains dedicated to expanding their classic rock resonance to a broader audience.
