Ghost Cult has teamed up with Oakland post-Rock/stoner band Oxide for their new single and video “A Platter for Thieves” featuring Ash Powell. The breathtaking video was created by Gokul Atreya. The track is the first new music from the trio, who released their excellent demo in 2019, and will be on their upcoming 2021 full-length release. The track was recorded by guitarist Kunjan Joshi and audio engineered by Yudhir Gautam. The video perfectly matches the temperament of the pensive and uplifting track, complete with ethereal vocals provided by Ash. “A Platter for Thieves” is an exciting sign of things to come from this band. The band commented:
While preparing for our upcoming album for Spring 2021, “A Platter for Thieves” emerged as a testament to this chaotic year—the collective feelings of isolation and separation brought on by the pandemic. We wanted the music video to reflect those sentiments while pointing out the contrast of human activity and it’s destructive impact on our planet—and in turn ourselves.
