Today on the block we have a cut that I cannot believe is ten years old. The cut I speak of is Howling Giant’s self-titled EP. This release would come crashing onto the Cosmic Rock scene. What they deliver on this cut is this soaring sound that comes at you through the endless bound for the stars.

For only a four-piece cut, this EP slams with grooves and an awesome musicality that keeps ‘em coming back for more. Looking back on this cut now, we can see the foundation being laid down, not just a flash in the pan, but a true entity that would be able to deliver again and again. 

Howling Giant in and of itself is a pretty polished cut showing off many of the band’s strengths in a very short amount of time. What also helps to keep how it holds up in the form of a polished release. For a simple DIY effort, it is some of those simple things that I find most appealing. 

All in all, this effort from Howling Giant would prove to be a solid stepping stone for a band that would go on to bring us some really awesome tunes. It was a fun look back on this gem of an EP.
