CONCERT REVIEW: Napalm Death - Melvins - Dark Sky Burial - Titan To Tachyons live at The Warsaw

I was gifted the opportunity to catch the second coming of the Napalm Death, Melvins tour package known as The Savage Imperial Death March Part II, but still sad I missed part I with Melt Banana. I love that band! The leg of the tour that I was able to partake in had Dark Sky Burial (Napalm’s Death’s bassist Shane Embury’s project), and Titan To Tachyons (featuring members of Imperial Triumphant) open Brooklyn’s recently renovated Warsaw theater.

I’ve had the pleasure of seeing the Melvins a number of times over their storied career, and no lie, this current incarnation is killing it. I love two drummers, and Dale and Cody are currently rhythmically in sonic matrimony. Start to finish, a fantastic Melvin’s set.

I was nervous earlier this year when I heard unverified rumors about Napalm Death having Visa issues, and I’m really happy nothing came of it, because I needed some Napalm in my life. I’ve been an admirer of their punk-esque metal since Junior high in the nineties and they’ve only improved over the years. Napalm put on a raucus set with bodies flying all over the packed venue, matching Barney Greenway’s buzzsaw energy on stage.

I will always recommend seeing Napalm Death on tour. Always a worthwhile experience!
