Alkaline Trio drummer Atom Willard has quit the band less than three years after joining on a full-time basis. Alkaline Trio have yet to comment on Willard’s exit. Willard officially joined Alkaline Trio in 2023, after a storied career with Against Me! His résumé also includes The Offspring, Angels & Airwaves, Danko Jones, Rocket From The Crypt, and many more studio and touring credits. Willard announced his departure via Instagram on Monday, February 2nd. Read his statement below.

With everything going on, going wrong, in the world right now this may seem insignificant, but it’s not for me.
I have parted ways with Alkaline Trio. Thanks to everyone who made my time there so awesome, very thankful for the experience.
I am currently considering all studio, collaboration, and touring opportunities.
I hope we can all look to love, compassion, understanding, and acceptance of our fellow humans in these dark and scary times
