A GoFundMe Has Been Launched for Oslo Black Metal Landmark and Record Store Neseblod

A GoFundMe  has been launched to aid the owners of Neseblood Records rebuild and recover following the fire that wiped out the Black Metal Landmark! Launched by Metal industry lifer and extreme music champion Darren Toms, the campaign has already raised 1/3 of the goal of £20,000 in less than 24 hours. See the link below and donate if you can.

According to a published report by VG News in Norway, Oslo record store Neseblod Records has suffered a fire and a major loss of business. As of now, it is unknown how extensive the damage is, but in the article, the owners feared a total loss, especially historic memorabilia from the store and the first and second wave Black Metal scene.Originally known as Helvete (“Hell”) the record store was owned by Øystein “Euronymous” Aarseth. In addition to the meta and rock store, the basement housed the Black Circle club where the Norwegian Black Metal scene formed and bands such as Aarseth’s band Mayhem and many others that sprung from the store employees and its denizens. The store was also immortalized in the Aarseth biopic Lords of Chaos by Jonas Ackerlund. In addition to a crucial piece of metal history, the store had continued to be a tourist attraction and a tour stop during Inferno Metal Festival’s popular annual Black Metal History tour. We’ll continue to track this story as it develops.

From the GoFundMe:
Hi, my name is Darren, I have been working with many Norwegian Black Metal bands over the years and Neseblod Records (Formerly Helvete) in the heart of Oslo, it has been part of the scene since the beginning of this unique musical movement, and is the heart & Spirit of the genre.

A fire ripped through the basement and shop last night destroying an archive of rare Black Metal History!, I am starting this Go Fund Me to help Kenneth get back on his feet.
