VOWWS Share a New Single and Video for “Hurt You” – Tour Dates Supporting Jerry Cantrell Incoming

Rising Australian duo VOWWS have been drawing attention and stirring a quiet, confident buzz in their chosen home of Los Angeles in the lead-up to their highly anticipated new album – which has not gone unnoticed by some conspicuous peers in the artist community. VOWWS already count the likes of Deftones, Korn, A Perfect Circle, Gary Numan and Billy Corgan amongst their fans owing to their singular blend of industrial electronica and alternative rock. Singer-keyboardist Rizz and singer-guitarist Matt James have elevated their sound and artistic vision, creating an adventurous, unique work set to make a mark in alternative music in 2025. Kicking off things in true VOWWS style with the powerful single “Blood’s On Fire” (which features Foo Fighter’s Josh Freese on drums), the track landed multiple playlist additions on Spotify and Apple Music plus spins on BBC Radio 1. The band’s new single “Hurt You” is a different shade of dark, and a more sensual mood in contrast to its predecessor. Stream and watch the video for “Hurt You” now!

Describing the meaning behind Hurt You, VOWWS said:  ‘This is probably as close as we’ll get to an actual love song. But it’s more like a memory of love, like a rose-tinted longing. Memories that feel more powerful with time as they wear out, becoming warmer and more romantic. Sometimes they change and become their own entity, like an old, flickering movie of the past, rather than the past itself. That feeling is what the song represents to us’

The duo purposefully took time over the last two years to hone in on the perfect collection of demos for their new album, before enlisting Billy Howerdel (A Perfect Circle) to help record and re-imagine each song – reflecting their commitment to honouring the artform of creation, in defiance of a music industry that prioritises quantity over quality.

This approach has also seen them become involved in the highest echelons of the fashion world, delivering compositions, collaborations and performances to Commes Des Garçons, Alyx, Givenchy and Byredo.

VOWWS have already announced several European festival dates for 2025, with the band also now added as main support to Jerry Cantrell’s (Alice In Chains) UK/EU run:
