Anthrax is currently out on the road with Slayer and Death Angel, but they took a quick break from playing huge stadiums for two benefit shows at Saint Vitus Bar over the weekend. The thrash icons teamed up with the intimate Brooklyn venue to help raise money for the cancer support group Gilda’s Club, and in return, the lucky fans in attendance got to see the legendary band up close and personal. Joey Belladonna even said on stage that it was “the most intimate show we’ve played since the early ‘80s,” but that didn’t stop them from putting on incredible show. Anthrax, not only played their classics, but they also added rare covers to the set list, as well as songs that they haven’t played live in decades, and the fans loved very every moment. The pit didn’t stop all night, and you could probably hear the crowd singing along all the way in Manhattan. I’m still sore from the chaos that happened on Friday night, but it was a concert I’ll never forget.

For those of you who couldn’t get tickets, unARTigNYC filmed Friday’s entire set! Check out the insanity below, and be sure to show some support for Gilda’s Club!
