Industrial Blues is a deeply personal body of work by Travis Sedg Bacon, son of Hollywood icons Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick, whose stage name combines both of their surnames. Known as the frontman of the industrial metal band Contracult Collective and a former member of the black metal act Black Anvil, Bacon steps into solo territory with five tracks that explore addiction, mental health, and identity, confronting each stage of struggle, acceptance, and survival head-on.

Bacon describes the project: “Industrial Blues is about confronting the parts of ourselves we’d rather avoid. Each song represents a different stage of struggle, acceptance, and ultimately survival.”

Lead single “Dopamine” introduced the EP earlier this year. The video for closing track “They” explores themes of fear, isolation, and inner conflict through cinematic visuals, serving as the EP’s final and most visceral statement.

Beyond Industrial Blues, Bacon composed the score for his mother Kyra Sedgwick‘s 2022 feature Space Oddity and his father Kevin Bacon‘s Amazon Prime series The Bondsman. In Family Movie, Bacon plays a death metal musician and wrote all original music for the film, with the fictional band “Obscure Death” featuring Nicholas Emde of Contracult and Shock Withdrawal on guitar, Eric Ghoste of Ghostemane on second guitar, Raeph Glicken of Black Anvil and Kill Your Idols on drums, and Samantha Mobley of Frozen Soul on bass.
