In a new video posted to his social media, former Bad Wolves frontman Tommy Vext lodged a ton of allegations against his former bandmates, as well as his former label Better Noise Music, including charges of racism, and massive theft of funds among other things. He also leaked the identity of his replacement in the band, former co-founder of The Acacia Strain, Daniel “DL” Laskiewicz, who retired from that band in 2013 to move on to producing. Tommy says he is sitting on five albums worth of unreleased music and thanked his fans for their support. He also made a few comparisons to the music industry and his plight comparing himself to both Marilyn Manson and Phil Anselmo, as well an odd comparison to his situation, being in bands, and theoretical personal relationships with being like bands that were eerily similar to abuse accusations lodged against Tommy last year by his former girlfriend. He also spent the end of the video casting aspersions on liberalism and soft “feminine liberals” such as his former bandmates, the poor performance of President Joe Biden, disproved theories about the Coronavirus vaccine, and his personal political ideologies. In the almost hour-long chat with fans, Tommy alleges:
Racism and criminal activities by his former label Better Noise Music and unnamed staff members
His lawsuit against the band, if it moves forward, will be for $55 million dollars
Tommy solely owns the Bad Wolves name and unreleased music
Bad Wolves cannot continue without a deal to return the unreleased songs to him and the name which he owns. They may cease to exist as band
The band has illegally locked him out of managing the Bad Wolves social media accounts
Either way, Tommy feels the band should change to a new name because a new singer should not sing his songs written about his personal life
Most of the best-known (non-cover) songs were written by him and producers such as Drew Fulk, and not the band.
Repeated the idea that he was forced out of the band due to his differing political ideologies
No members of Bad Wolves played on their major hits from either of their two albums together
Most artists on the Better Noise Music label (current and past) have personally told him the label is a bad partner and steals from the bands
That the label pockets the money from streaming services such as Spotify and steals from bands.
Better Noise Music wanted bands like Bad Wolves to contribute money to their new film projects without any compensation
That he made more money on his recent solo tour of Texas in a week than fifteen weeks of Bad Wolves tours. This made him further question the financial practices of the band and label
That major theft of band money was happening in Bad Wolves, including high credit card expenditures during the pandemic, anbd he didnt know until he asked for a forensic accounting
Most of the Bad Wolves’ touring crew has left them to join Tommy on his future tours.
So far neither the band, nor the label has commented publicly on this commentary by Vext.
