Terrible news and a blow to all of underground metal, Blake Harrison, the former samples maestro and sometime vocalist for Grindcore legends Pig Destroyer has died. He was just 49 years old. Blake had been battling and beat cancer the last few years, and died from heart failure during a minor procedure, according to a post from his partner, as well as the countless tributes from other bands and metal scene people that have been pouring in from social media. Blake exited the band in 2022, but was an integral member of the band for mort than a dozen releases since 2006. He was a vital member of the band on releases such as his debut with them, Phantom Limb and Book Burner. In addition to Pig Destroyer, he led a myriad of other projects such as Triac, Tentacles of God, Zealot R.I.P., and the hilarious Hatebeak. In addition to being a brilliant artist Blake was an even better person, kind with his time with fans and friends. We send our condolences to his partner, his family, his friends, and his fans. R.I.P.
