Spotify continues to fail artists on a daily basisis for a number of reasons. Artists from the undeground to mainstream are fleeing the oplatform , theiover low payouts, a system rigged to conceal the path by which artists can earn moneyr CEO creating an AI defence contracting company, and now running ICE recruiting ads. Another evil practice the platform does not protect artists and their IP, case in point Nothingface. The beloved nineties and 2000s Washington DC/Baltimore based-band had a new track uploaded this week to their account that is straight up AI Slop trash. This should be illegal, but the platform doesnt help the artists protect their accounts. The band broke up in 2004, respawned in 2005 and broke up for good in 2009. The band made six records ranging from their Nu-Metal debut Pacifier (DCide Records), criminally underrated An Audio Guide to Every Day Atrocity (TVT Records) through Violence, which sold 87k copies its first week, was on the mainstream Billboard rock charts (#32), and saw the band playing Tattoo The Earth in 2001, Ozzfest 2003, and many huge tours with Slayer, Pantera, and Soulfly.
