Legendary MTV Rock Video Vixen Tawny Kitaen Has Died, Age 59


Sad news according to MetalSucks.net, as Julie “Tawny” Kitaen who shot to fame in 1980s movies and later as a music video vixen in the heyday of MTV, has died. She was 59-years-old. Variety reports that Kitaen died at her home in Newport Beach, CA yesterday, Friday, May 7. There has been no cause of death revealed, but recent tweets from Tawny in April indicated she was battling an illness and had been off social media. Most recently Tawney had been a guest at Headbangers Con, participating in the virtual event, one of her last public appearances. Kitaen shot to fame in the Tom Hanks movie Bachelor Party in 1984 and had been in  RATT’s 1984 clip, “Back for More.” She dated late guitarist Robin Crosby. Later she was in a series of iconic videos for Whitesnake, including “Here I Go Again.” She was later married to Whitesnake frontman David Coverdale. other clips as well, including “Still of the Night,” “Is This Love” and “The Deeper the Love.” She was also married to Whitesnake singer David Coverdale from 1989 to 1991. She was also a reality TV star and in 2011, she recreated the “Here I Go Again” video for a Funny or Die sketch, “Here We Go Again.” She later married form MLB pitcher Chuck Finely and had two children.
