Sad news: after struggling with health issues and suffering several heart attacks, Gary “Angry” Anderson of Rose Tattoo has died. He was 79. The news was announced by the band on their socials. Health issues notwithstanding, Anderson toured until just recently, stopping only due to cardiac arrest on tour, and was the longest-standing remaining member, since he joined in 1976. Originally a member of Buster Brown with later AC/DC drummer Phil Rudd, and also a member of The Party Boys and also put out several solo albums. Rose Tattoo originally lasted from 1976- 1986, breaking up and reforming several times. The band was hugely influential to hard rock and glam rock bands from around the world as big as Guns N Roses (covered the band often and took them on tour), Ratt, Poison, Warrant, to more recent bands such as Scorpion Child, and countrymen Airbourne, and more. In addition to rock music, Angry was a prolific actor, most notably as Ironbar Bassey in the film Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome in 1985, and was often tapped as a presenter on television. RIP.
