Metallica has added even more new content to its third collection ever, “The Art of Metallica.” It’s been one year since The Metallica Black Box opened its doors with the first exhibition taking a deep dive into The Black Album, followed by 40 Years of Metallica. This latest exhibition digs into the band’s personal collection of artwork and includes rarely-seen drafts of album art, classic t-shirt images, gig posters, fan tributes, video storyboards, Hetfield sketches, and much more. Spanning all forty years and featuring iconic artists including Pushead, Tony Squindo, Dirty Donny, and so many more. The next series of archival material comes from their 2012 exhibition in Los Angeles “Obey your Master!”

Metallica and Billabong Release Final Collection Inspired by “And Justice For All”


Metallica and Billabong LAB has announced the fifth and final product delivery in the Billabong x Metallica 2019-2020 Collection of menswear in their collaboration. Titled “…And Justice For All”, this latest selection of apparel is inspired by Metallica’s classic fourth album and features previously unreleased concept art by boardsports-affiliated artist Pushead in a limited release of cross-branded surf trunks, T-shirts, and corduroy jackets.Continue reading


Metallica Celebrate Giving Tuesday With Limited-Edition Vinyl And Custom Artwork


Giving Tuesday is the annual day following the consumer obsession of Black Friday that focuses on charity and supporting non-profits. It has been a year of giving back for Metallica with the formation of their All Within My Hands charity with concerts, donating proceed from shows at every show to a local charity, a day of services and all kinds of special auctions of merch. Now for Giving Tuesday Metallica is releasing their recent Helping Hands Benefit Concert, on limited-edition, 140g colored vinyl mixed by Greg Fidelman (Slayer). The Met Store is also releasing a limited-edition etched glass featuring the iconic Pushead artwork for “One,” as a glass etching available on Tuesday at 1 PM PST. Proceeds from the sale of both items will be donated directly to AWMH and will be used to support communities in need, primarily in the areas of workforce education and the fight against hunger.
