Heavy Metal legend and original Iron Maiden vocalist Paul Di’Anno (Paul Andrews) has died. He was 66. Paul passed away at his home in Salisbury, UK. So far, the cause of death has not been revealed but Paul had been in poor health in recent years. As the iconic vocalist on the first two Iron Maiden (197801981) albums, Iron Maiden and Killers, and the infamous Soundhouse Tapes demo that got the bad signed, Paul helped catapult the band to fame. In addition to leading his own solo bands for the last nearly 45 years, Paul was a member of Killers, Battlehorse, Praying Mantis, Gogmagog, and other bands. He released the final album in his lifetime, The Book of the Beast, via Conquest Music, in September. This summer Paul had met his Iron Maiden replacement, Bruce Dickinson, while both were on tour this summer. Please read the press release below regarding Paul’s life and work. RIP. Continue reading
