Pagan folk band Faun have released a brand new single and music video for “Nimue,” a poetic and mesmerising track inspired by the old Arthurian legend of “The Lady of The Lake.” The track is taken from the band’s upcoming new album Hex, set for release on 5th September via Pagan Folk Records. Listen to the single here and watch the music video, which premieres at 6:00pm BST, here. Nimue is a figure from folklore that’s referred to in a number of different ways. As well as her aforementioned title, she’s sometimes described as a sorceress, a water spirit, even an ancient goddess in possession of the legendary sword Excalibur. Here, though, she is a mortal woman; a huntress that became a student of the great wizard Merlin. Faun felt compelled to write a song about her upon discovering the story and created the track alongside gothic folk artist Chelsea Wolfe, whose dark presence makes the track even more enchanting.
