As they continue to bear down on the release of their new album Rainier Fog, on August 24th. Alice In Chains has booked a special acoustic set atop the iconic Space Needle in Seattle, WA. The set will find the band being the first to perform in the ‘The Loupe’, which features a revolving glass floor 500 feet in the air and is part of a recent $100 million dollar renovation of the landmark. Opening the evening was Seattle band Walking Papers. Known more because of their regular members Duff McKagan and Barrett Martin, this is an act too good to miss. Even down a few guys and playing with some fill-in musicians, the band won over the anxious crowd with incredibly soulful rock music. No BS, no self-depreciation: just rock and proud to be rock. Amazing songs and performances, especially by frontman Jeff Angell, who is incredible. They have a recent EP out from 2018, and you should all go get it now.
Alice In Chains shared a post to their Instagram account of them recording their as yet to be announced new album, expected later in 2018. The band kicks off their massive summer headline tour with Walking Papers, including festival appearances this weekend including Carolina Rebellion, Northern Invasion, Rock On The Range WMMR-BQue, and more in the USA. European festival dates include Tonnes of Rock Fest, Coppenhell, and Hellfest among others. Continue reading
