Rusty Eye with Sergio Arau
Mexican Rock en Espanol multi talent Sergio Arau has recruited Los Angeles band Rusty Eye as his back up band for his latest venture. He saw Rusty Eye play live and thought it would be a good match to incorporate their sound with his blend of Hard Rock, Metal and Punk with traditional Mexican Folk Music. The whole trio has joined as his backing band. Stream the new song “No me Late la tira!” here.
Arau was one of the founding members of the eighties seminal band “Botellita de Jerez” and has released three albums as a solo artist. Simultaneously, his talents go beyond music and has directed music videos, animations, and movies. He is best known for directing the film A Day Without a Mexican.

Jorge Herrera, from the famous “Hermanos Herrera” joined as a multi-instrumentalist. He plays a wide array of traditional Mexican folk instruments such as: Huapango violin, Jarana Jarocha, Accordion, and the Requinto Jarocho (to name a few).
The band has recorded a single called “No Me Late la Tira (Ni me Latirá)” which roughly translates to “I Don’t Like the Cops (and Never will). They plan on recording a new Sergio Arau solo album and will be playing shows soon.
Rusty Eye welcomes this new project as it brings back drummer Miss Randall, together with bassist Mr. Rust and guitarist Baron Murtland. A brand new Rusty Eye studio album in English is in talks as well.
