Metallica is due to kick off their South American tour with Greta Van Fleet, in Chile on April 27th, 2022. In an article on the news site Duplos, the venue of the stadium is unavailable and organizers are scrambling to find a suitable stadium for the band to perform in. Local support is due to come from the local band Yahaira. The Minister of Sports of Chile commented:
Metallica has announced they have been forced to cancel their upcoming South American tour this spring with support from Greta Van Fleet. The band is working on rescheduling for later in 2020. Additionally, the Danny Wimmer Presents festivals: Epicenter, Welcome to Rockville, and Sonic Temple we also canceled and addressed in a statement by the band. Also, they have been added to a special Thursday Night show of Louder Than Life on September 17th. Finally, Metallica announced they will host a concert series on YouTube and Facebook, known as #MetallicaMondays starting tonight.
