New York City Death Metal artist, concert promoter, and scene legend Jeovanny Ulises Estrella has died. His family shared the news on social media that he passed on October 30th, following an outpouring of love and support from friends and peers. He passed away after a brief illness at age 50. Jeo was born in the Dominican Republic, came to America, and became a fixture in the New York Death Metal and Hardcore scenes as a young man, playing in countless killer bands and booking shows with his Means 4 War Records and Bookings agency. Without him, tons of international, national, and local extreme metal bands would never have played a gig in the Tri-State area. An accomplished and respected touring guitarist and drummer in Death Metal, most recently with Trez Muertoz, who released their TxMx EP in 2025, but also for past projects such as Demized, Reborn From Chaos, Dead Season, Demigods, Diminished, From Beyond, and many more. He also owned an apparel company. One of the last things he did was help form the Uptown Rumble exhibition with The Bronx Historical Society. Jeo was also a passionate member of the NYDM club and extremely dedicated to his family, which suffered the tragic loss of one of his twin sons, Jeovanny Jr., just over one year ago in September of 2025. Services will take place at Ortiz Funeral Home in the Bronx, New York, on November 4th, 2026. Details can be found below. RIP.
