Rage Against The Machine’s Debut Album Returns to The Billboard 200 Charts on The Strength of Global Protests


Rage Against The Machine’s classic self-titled debut album has returned the Billboard 200 and theiTunes’ Top Albums chart, nearly 30 years since the LP was originally issued. The renewed interest in the effort comes in the wake of nationwide protests against police brutality following the police-involved death of George Floyd. According to Forbes, “Rage Against The Machine” landed at No. 174 on this week’s Billboard 200, and as of Thursday afternoon, it had reached No. 8 on iTunes’ Top Albums chart. Ghost Cult Magazine broke the news (and the internet) with the news the band was reuniting to play a series of benefits for families that are victims of ICE, as well as to headline Coachella 2020. Their 2020 worldtour is postponed to 2021 and Coachella has been canceled.
