Desolate (NYC) Returns for Their First Show in Six Years This Weekend


It’s time to follow the cowbell again! As New York City’s Hardcore/Metal group Desolate will return to the stage for their first show in six years this weekend. Formed in 2001, the band has released new music in the last few years such as 2023’s comeback album Armed Against Disasters, featuring the single “Torn” (premiered here at Ghost Cult). The show is this Saturday night November 15th at Brooklyn Monarch, and also features other area bands Witchforce, Lies Beneath, Bowhead, and Furia.

New York City’s synth-based/grindcore innovators OvertheTop have been steadily dropping new singles and videos for the last year, and their current album Resist released last spring. Today they have shared a new single and lyric video for the track “The Beating”! For the uninitiated, OvertheTop mashes up the awesome sounds of the 1980s dance and post-Punk, cinematic soundtracks, and classic grindcore, unapologetically and unironically so.
