Beginning with the 1998 album ‘The Art Of Self Defense’, and through to 2018’s ‘Electric Messiah’, each chapter of Head on A Pike features Matt’s distinctive lyrics flanked by one-of-a-kind artistic interpretations — specifically inspired by each album — straight from the minds and hearts of an incredible cast of illustrators, tattooers, print makers and painters that Pike has trusted since the beginning to depict his unique musical vision. A video preview of …And Justice For Art book, written by author Ramon ‘Oscuro’ Martis and co-publisher Dark Canvas, is streaming below. The book is officially available on April 15, 2015.
Martos spent more than three years researching and interviewing more than 100 established and underground Metal bands for the book as well as renowned visual artists like Travis Smith, Eliran Kantor, Paul Raymond Gregory, Arik Roper, and Joe Petagno, among others.
The book’s forword was written by Morbid Angel’s David Vincent. It features more than 400 graphics (some of them never seen before) and 264 glossy, color pages. It was printed thanks to a successful Indiegogo crowd-funding campaign that Martos launched last year raising 236% of its original goal. And Justice For Art is also scheduled to be one of the main attractions of the Rock & Metal Gallery at the UK’s famous Bloodstock Open Air in August 2015.

Roadburn Festival Releases Running Order Plus Additional Events Within Festival
Roadburn 2015 has released the running order for each day, plus other events surrounding the festival. The event is on Thursday, April 9 to Sunday, April 12 at the 013 venue in Tilburg, The Netherlands. The schedule is available below.
On Wednesday evening (April 8th), Hard Rock Hideout will be held at Cul de Sac and entry is free. Prematory will have us feverishly thrash-until-we-crash. Their relentless neck-wreckers are nostalgic, yet fresh and energetic! Bark is leading the new pack of Antwerp stray dogs of extreme sound. Infectious, dirty riffs and a voice that will tear you apart – Bark serve their tunes raw, unpolished, gritty and dark!
On Friday (April 10th) we’ll host our Music Industry panel where record label representatives and other key industry figures will be debating exactly what it is that a record label looks for in the bands that they sign these days. Following that, we’ll have a very special Q&A session hosted by Noisey’s Editor-in-Chief, Fred Pessaro, who will be talking to Jimmy and Mike from Eyehategod before a screening of the 2014 Noisey documentary NOLA: Life, Death and Heavy Blues from the Bayou.

Arik Roper will be exhibiting at Project Space Tilburg – Gust van Dijk, presenting Brilliant Shadows: Selected Works by Arik Roper – which will be open throughout the festival and continue into May.
