The Tragically Hip to Re-issue Expanded Boxset of “Up To Here” for 40th Anniversary


The Tragically Hip are closing in on the release of the commemorative boxset of their Diamond-certified debut album, Up To Here. The latest installment of special deluxe packages. Up To Here was originally released September 5, 1989. It spawned two Canadian rock radio #1 singles, “Blow at High Dough” and “New Orleans is Sinking,” and earned them a JUNO Award for “Most Promising Artist” in 1990. The four-LP box set, as well as a three-disc CD format, will be released on Friday, November 15. Find out more below.

Dream Theater Drop a Single and Video for “Night Terror” – New Album Coming Soon


Prog titans, Dream Theater, have returned with the announcement of their sixteenth studio album, Parasomnia. It is the first album featuring their iconic lineup – vocalist James LaBrie, guitarist John Petrucci, bassist John Myung, keyboardist Jordan Rudess and drummer Mike Portnoy – since 2009’s Black Clouds & Silver Linings, and is due February 7, 2025, via the label Inside Out Music/Sony Music.The band will also celebrate their 40th anniversary on the road, with an extensive live run throughout Europe, and North and South America, from October 20th, and have already released the album’s first single, “Night Terror.” It comes with a music video, directed by Mike Leonard. W.A.S.P. to Perform Debut Album Live on 40th Anniversary North American Tour



W.A.S.P. have announced their Album ONE Alive! North American tour, marking the 40th anniversary of the release of their first album. To celebrate, they will, for the first time in 40 years, play the entire album on the tour this fall, kicking off October 26th in San Luis Obispo, CA. Violent Femmes to Release Deluxe Reissue of their Self-Titled Album via Craft Recordings


Craft Recordings is thrilled to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Violent Femmes’ 1983 self-titled debut with a special reissue of the seminal cult classic. Due out December 1st and available for pre-order now, the deluxe 2-CD and digital formats will feature newly remastered audio and over a dozen demos, B-sides, and live performances from the pioneering folk-punk trio — including alternate versions of iconic songs like “Blister in the Sun,” “Please Do Not Go,” “Gone Daddy Gone,” and “Add It Up.” A special 4-disc vinyl box set will follow February 9th, 2024, limited to 5,000 copies worldwide. Housed in a lift-top box with die-cut window detail, this collectible edition offers three 180-gram LPs — the original album, alongside the demos, and live material — plus, a replica 7-inch single (“Ugly”/“Gimme the Car”). The original album and single discs are cut from the original analog tapes, while lacquers for the complete set were cut by Kevin Gray at Cohearent Audio. Both the CD and LP editions will feature an expansive book with new liner notes by journalist and Rolling Stone senior editor David Fricke, complete with interviews with Violent Femmes members Gordon Gano, Brian Ritchie, and Victor DeLorenzo. The band has also shared a new single –  “Gone Daddy Gone / I Just Want to Make Love to You (Live)” streaming now on all DSPs.

Anthrax Books HeadlineTour Dates for 2022 with Municipal Waste


Thrash Metal masters Anthrax has booked a headline tour of Europe, their first European tour since the summer of 2019. Celebrating 40 years of Anthrax in 2021, the band will start the trek in September 27, 2022 in Birmingham, England, the band will play 27 dates in 15 countries, wrapping up in Zurich, Switzerland on November 5. Municipal Waste will support on all dates. The band has said they hope to release a new album in 2022.

Saxon Announces 40th Anniversary “Castles & Eagles” UK Tour, Live Album


As they have been hinting at, Saxon has announced a 40th-anniversary tour and new live album. The “Castles & Eagles” UK Tour will celebrate the bands’ milestone with a career spanning show at three special venues. For the first time since the 1980’s Saxon return to headlining London’s legendary Hammersmith “Odeon” and Manchester Apollo, together with their largest Scottish show to date at Glasgow’s Braehead Arena in October 2019, with a mega show featuring staples of Saxon shows past, the castle set in its enormity together with the classic Eagle Lighting rig! For London and Manchester, a four-band bill will include Swiss legends Krokus who will play their first and only shows in the UK for many years together with friends and NWOBHM icons Girlschool & Diamond Head.
