StubHub Issues an Apology for Using a Photo of Lamb Of God for a Christian Event in South Carolina

No, this is not The Onion! According to a published report, 7 News (WSPA) reported a ticketing error that caused confusion over the weekend after Stub Hub mistakenly advertised a Lamb of God show at Spartanburg Memorial Auditorium in Spartanburg, South Carolina, rather than a Christian event ahead of Christmas 2025.

The venue hosted Andrew Peterson’s Behold The Lamb Of God on Saturday, December 20th — a Christian music performance centered on the birth of Jesus Christ. The event was properly listed on the auditorium’s website, with tickets sold through Ticketmaster.

However, StubHub incorrectly listed the event as a performance by Virginia metal band Lamb Of God, complete with a promotional photo (as seen in the story’s header image) of the band’s vocalist and a “top trending” designation for the venue. The listing somewhat suggested the metal outfit was playing the same night and time.

However, Lamb Of God currently has no South Carolina dates announced and is not scheduled to tour until March 2026. StubHub has since apologized for the mix-up and stated that any customers who purchased tickets under the erroneous listing are eligible for a full refund.

This is not the first time Lamb Of God has popped up ironically in religious circles. Over a decade ago tickets for the annual Salem Community Easter Drama performance in Salem, VA were accidentally adorned with the Virginia metal band’s logo.

A StubHub spokesperson shared the following:

We acknowledge the listing for the December 20 event at Spartanburg Memorial Auditorium was misleading and apologize for the confusion this caused. Ahead of the show we updated the event page and reached out to customers to clarify the event details. Anyone who purchased tickets under the impression this was a different performance is encouraged to contact us — we’ll honor a full refund under our FanProtect Guarantee.
