After breaking out with their 2023 debut Super Snooper, Snooper’s second album arrives with a wave of momentum. It’s their first time working with a producer, none other than John Congleton (St Vincent, Eels, Chelsea Wolfe), who approached the band as a fan. Where Super Snooper captured the feral intensity of their authentically punk live show, Worldwide balances that energy with a new melodic confidence and focus. They’ve always blurred the line between chaos and catchiness, but here they lean into rhythm and structure in thrilling ways. Drum machines pulse through tracks like “Star 69” and “Worldwide,” creating unexpected dance breaks that sit comfortably alongside their punk roots.

Snooper was never supposed to be a live band – it started as a lo-fi recording and video project between Blair Tramel and Connor Cummins during lockdown – but the ferocity of their shows quickly became their signature. Tramel, who had never performed before, began building the “Snooperverse” of props, puppets, and giant papier mâché heads to cope with early stage fright. Now, those handmade elements have become a core part of their identity, from an arcade console to crowd-surfing bug puppets.
